Chione is a Twin Cities-based woodwind quintet comprised of innovative and cross-disciplinary women. The quintet is:

Nina Olsen, clarinet*

Allison Akins, horn

Matt Bertrand, bassoon*

The program will included select works by composers such as Valerie Coleman, Paquito D’Rivera, Kenji Bunch and Gary Powell Nash. This energetic classic and newer repertoire explores varied colors, themes and textures, from D’Rivera’s sultry “Aires Tropicales” to “Nash’s” compelling “Stop for Equity,” a brand-new work written for Chione.
